Khmer Kitchen Cambodian FoodBy ah hong on June 25, 2009 | 5 Comments
Khmer Kitchen Restaurant was one of the finest Khmer food restaurant we had during our Visit To Angkor Temple
If you didn’t know, Khmer food was one of the famous local cuisine in Cambodia and you may call it Khmer cuisine as well
Khmer food was widely consume in the country of Cambodia and I wanted to try after reading the review of this restaurant at

And here am I in Khmer Kitchen Restaurant of Pub Street, Siem Reap.
It was afternoon time and our travel group was the only customer insides the shop

Besides the drink, all the food price was standard in USD 3.
I would recommend you go with larger group of people as you may try more dishes of Khmer cuisine

One Angkor Beer please…quite chill to have beer under the hot burning sun

Lime juice for you if you don’t want to get drunk with Angkor Beer in early afternoon

Khmer Cuisine Food Hunt
Whenever you order the Khmer dish in this restaurant, free rice was provided as well for you to whack ‘9 9′

The Khmer food serving begins…
Khmer Kitchen, Fried Cashew Nut Pork

Fried Cashew Nut Pork – mixture of garlic, onion, tomato and spring onion
Khmer Kitchen, Khmer Style Soup Fish

Khmer Style Soup Fish – mixture of lemon grass, lime leave, garlic, ginger, chili, galangal, lemon and herbs
Khmer Kitchen, Fried Sweet & Sour Chicken

Fried Sweet & Sour Chicken – mixture of onion, tomato, pineapple, cucumber, spring onion and garlic
Khmer Kitchen, Amok Fish

Amok Fish – mixture of coconut cream, spicy taste, long beans, onion, green leaves and white egg
Khmer Kitchen, Khmer Curry Tofu

Khmer Curry Tofu – mixture of coconut cream, spicy paste, chili, potato, yam, pumpkin and carrot
I finished all the food served in Khmer Kitchen Restaurant. The coconut cream which was the main ingredient of Khmer Curry Tofu and Amok fish earned my deep praise.
Light & Easy, the only words for the coconut cream which was best to taste when you pour and mix with aromatic rice

If you just want to order single dish then I would recommend you Amok Fish, steamed curried fish as traditional dish of Cambodian cuisine
Khmer food, make sure you never miss this cuisine during your visit to Angkor Wat

The Blue Pumpkin @Pub StreetBy ah hong on June 24, 2009 | 2 Comments
Pub Street was the most happening street at night in Siem Reap, and you will love to visit the street at night
During our journey in Siem Reap Travel Escape, we have passed by the Pub Street in the evening and find for some refreshing drinks and dessert before heading back to guest house

So what does The Blue Pumpkin offers? Cold drinks, ice cream and a place to relax when your leg is numb for the rest of the day.
The Blue Pumpkin In Pub Street

Just a shop in Pub Street, The Blue Pumpkin opens from morning till night

Cold drink, cold drink for me please

Remember the price you see here was in USD and you need to think “this is worth under the hot sun”

The Blue Pumpkin offers ice cream too with USD 1 per scoop if not mistaken.
The taste of the ice cream was the best you can get in Siem Reap, but we have several free test before we buy the ice cream and encounter things…
“How many times you want to try” – this is the classic phrase we keep on joking about for the rest of the day.
If I was to hear this from the waiter myself, I will shoot back words to the waiter 9 9

Drink & Relax In The Blue Pumpkin

So we just went to The Blue Pumpkin upstairs and sit, cool down with the cold drink and ice cream.
The drinks was special at least in Siem Reap, you can’t get any like this in Pub Street

We saw lots of tourist and foreigner was lying down on the special bed and just have some relax reading.
Quite cool place especially you have lots of time to spend in Siem Reap but don’t know where is the best place to do so

I joined the group relaxing in The Blue Pumpkin…O-NO…so sleepy…I just…can’t…move… anymore
