Mount Bromo Tour Indonesia
The Mount Bromo Tour kicked off in the middle of East Java, Indonesia. Get ready for a spectacular sunrise and majestic views across to Semeru volcano in the south.
The staff from hotel Cemara Indah gave us a morning call via knock~knock~knock on door and we knew we have 30 minutes left to jump on jeep.
No worry, you are not the only one going to watch the sunrise in Mount Penanjakan. Everyone else will be queuing to join the Tour De Mount Bromo as well

In my post on Bromo Hotel Cemara Indah, each of us has paid 90,000 Indonesia Rp for the jeep service and 25,000 Indonesia Rp for Bromo permit entry.
It will be perfect if you are going to Bromo in group of 6, you can rent the whole jeep for 35,000 Indonesia Rupiah.
The journey to Mount Penanjakan took us 45 minutes in jeep and 15 minutes of walking to the top. Check it out the Mount Bromo map.
It’s freezing cold on 4.30am morning and hundreds of people waiting for the sun to rise

Mount Bromo, Mount Batok & Mount Semeru
The sweet spot for the 5.30am sunrise view from Mount Penanjakan. You can see the Bromo Crater (the left), Mount Batok (center front) and Mount Semeru (center back).
Mount Semeru also known as Mahameru or the Great Mountain is one of Indonesia’s most active volcano.
We hang around Mount Penanjakan until 6am to continue our bumpy road journey to Bromo Crater

It’s 7am now and Bromo Crater is just 20 minutes away from walking.
Take a look on the ground before you make your move. This advice is for people who choose not to torture the horse by walking

The traffic to Bromo Crater hits the bottleneck at last!
It’s getting hot with strong smell of sulphuric as we move near to the Bromo crater

After ascending on the 250 concrete steps, we are now on top of the Bromo Crater at last!
It’s smokey~~~think to have a cool hot spring bath down there? You better think twice.
Close up look on the Mount Batok. A beautiful green volcano mountain and it’s no longer active.
The walk up and down from Bromo Crater took us around 1 hour. That marks the end of our Tour de Mount Bromo.
We reach back Cemara Indah around 9am in the morning and slam our head into bed
