Min Su Homestay In Hualien

  • Looking for Min Su (民宿) or Homestay in Hualien, Taiwan? I would highly recommend Ah Jie Min Su (阿姐民宿) as the accommodation choice for your to stay during the vacation night :)

We did contact Ah Jie to check on the weather condition especially on Taroko National Park and she update us daily on the final week before our flight to Taiwan.

After the 12 hours travel time from Kuala Lumpur – Taipei – Hualien, our low battery arrival was energized back by warm welcome from Ah Jie.

My impression was I have reach to another home of mine that night ;)

Ah Jie do recommend us the place to visit in Hualien and she is the one for find Hualien Driver for us :D

This is the view from our 3rd floor bed room and Ah Jie’s homestay was similar to the house you seeing on the picture.

Every morning we will went out to the balcony and take some deep breathe of the Hualien’s fresh air.

This is the look of our favourite 4 person’s Doraemon bedroom with the blue sky and sea theme :)

That’s pretty cool because I never been into such cute bedroom in my life and I am big fans of Doraemon.

One good thing about the accommodation was it was clean and comfortable and I didn’t have my nose stuck  in the next morning ;)

Ah Jie Min Su has bedroom with Lavender theme in the 2nd floor and I bet this room can fits in 2-3 person.

I read your blog on Hualien. Thanks for sharing your experience. It is very interesting and I like the pictures taken. Upon your recommendation , I have also booked a night at Ah Jie Minsu
My family ( total 3 adults and 2 young girls ) will be staying there. May I check with you, how do you get to the city night market for dinner? It looks far from Ah Jie Minsu. Kindly advise

    Many thanks to you.

Hi Pearl, the Hualien city night market was around 10 minutes drive from Ah Jie Minsu.

Usually we ask our driver, Mr. Lee to drop us in the Hualien city and we took cab after we finish our food hunting and shopping :)

As for the cab fare, I couldn’t remember how much we paid but Hualien taxi driver is real honest and they won’t simply overcharge people on the fare :D

Thanks for reading my blog. Lots more to come about Hualien place and food :D

@JW You can contact Ah Jie Homestay in Hualien for details about the tour guide fee. That time we hired Mr. Lee (speak Mandarin and Taiwanese) as our driver but he did a great job as the tour guide as well. I highly recommend Mr. Lee to be your driver when you reach Hualien. Hi i am planning for my nov trip to Hualian. i am travelling with my wife and 6 yo kid. i think by time i reached minsu (yet to book) from singapore/taipei/ hualian. so it likely to be late in the day. so i plan for the toroko trip on the second day. base on your blog , it seem a day trip in toroko is sufficent?

other than toroko, any place worth visiting? any hot spring for kid? actually i plan for 3 night/4 day stay in minsu. base on ah jie minsu. what time is the check out on the last day? 1st day is gone for travelling, 2nd days in Taroko, 3rd day any recommendation? i prefer something slow as to keeping travelling on the 3rd.

    thanks
    mario

Ciao Mario, travel by air from Singapore to Taipei and train to Hualien (http://www.ah-hong.com/travel/taipei-hualien) will need takes you around 10 hours ++. So I guess you will be reaching Hualien at night and it’s good to take some rest for the first day.

Spend your 2nd day in Taroko National Park (http://www.ah-hong.com/travel/gorge-taroko-tour) and one day should be sufficient to visit all the famous spot in Taroko. Drop by Seven Star Lake (http://www.ah-hong.com/travel/seven-star-lake) and Qingshui Cliff (http://www.ah-hong.com/travel/qingshui-cliff) before heading to Taroko National Park, you shouldn’t miss this as well :)

We went to several places on the 3rd day and I just highly recommend Shihtiping to you (http://www.ah-hong.com/travel/shihtiping-hualien). It’s quite far from Hualien city about approx 1 hour of driving if not mistaken.

The checkout time in Ah Jie Minsu is around 12pm, but you can inform them if you plan to checkout a little bit late. We stay for 3 night in Ah Jie Minsu before this and you can trust them.

P.S Remember to buy the train ticket back to Taipei a day before the departure date (http://www.ah-hong.com/travel/hualien-taipei-train)

Hi Jan, previously we reach Taipei airport around 1pm and from there we move on and reach Hualien around 8pm. So for your case the guestimation time would be around 11pm if you are lucky enough to get train ticket to Hualien on the spot. You can refer more details on http://www.ah-hong.com/travel/taipei-hualien/
