Travel From Hualien To Taipei Train
We begin our fourth day travel by boarding into the Hualien to Taipei train. We check on the schedule and bought the tickets around 1754NTD for four person in Hualien Train Station.
Each person needs to pay up to 441NTD for the one way train ticket to Taipei. Consider it cheap for approximate 200km journey from Hualien (point B) to Taipei (point A).
Our train rush from Hualien to Taipei after our boarding at 10.45am. We have a good dream in train for 2 hours 15 minutes and reach Taipei at 1pm afternoon.
Allow me to give some quick tips and sharing on the public transportation in Taiwan.
Buy Hualien Train Ticket
First tips, purchase the train’s ticket as early as possible once you have set the departure date and time.
It would be a nightmare to reach Hualien Train Station and find the train ticket you want to purchase already sold out.
Worst case scenario does happen sometimes and you wouldn’t want to mess up your travel schedule just because of this.
So buy the train ticket one or two days before and you may rest at ease
Buy MRT YoYo Easy Card
We bought the MRT YoYo Easy Card from the subway counter after we reach Taipei.
It’s similar to Touch ‘N’ Go card where you just need to flash the card before passing the subway gate.
Quite a handy one especially in rush hour and it will save you lots of time in queuing up for the MRT ticket purchase.
How much is the MRT YoYo Easy Card? We paid 500NTD for each card/person and it was preloaded with 400NTD value and the 100NTD goes as deposit.

Leave a CommentHi Shini, we bought the train ticket from Taipei to Hualien when we reach the train station. Lots of Taipei people will go back Hualien on Friday itself, so it’s good to book it earlier. There’s website to buy the train ticket earlier but I couldn’t remember it either. Sorry
As for Hualien to Taipei, we bought the ticket on the train station itself one day earlier from the departure date to be safe.

I need a little help here, I can’t read Chinese and tried to find more information on the earliest train available from Hualien to Taipei on a regular Friday from their train website..but to no avail…do you have any idea?

I am visiting Taiwan in end of June. I can’t to find any website to purchase the train tickets from Hualien to Taipei. Any ideas which website I can book the tickets? Or I have to book it early when I reach Hualien?
