Why Buy iPhone Maxis 3G

  • This blog does not intend to spoil the promotion by Maxis recently on their brand new iPhone 3G.

I decided to blog about this as I am the 1st generation iPhone user. Yes, some people call it as iPhone 2G.

I do met people that buy iPhone 2G or 3G like me. 2G or 3G? It doesn’t matter at all cause some people just bought it to make call and SMS.

“iPhone is fancy mar”, what a answer. It always back to basic question before you buy or shop anything.

You want or you need? You want to show off but you just need it to make call and SMS? Then you should ask the salesman or salesgirl to recommend you other phone.

Yes, Nokia 3310 will do. Antique but serves all the purpose for you.

So you want iPhone 3G from Maxis? Ok, forget the word Maxis here first. What’s the difference between iPhone 2G and 3G?

Answer is…it’s 2G and 3G but iPhone 3G has GPS embedded inside as well.

Naraku said before “EDGE is sufficient enough in iPhone 2G”. That’s the most damn thing that I ever agree on.

I subsribed to unlimited data plan by DiGi for RM66 and I was good to go to write this blog from my iPhone. Download some games from Apps Store, jump in to Facebook, check some e-mail and blah blah blah. The EDGE speed in iPhone 2G does not concern me or is an issue ;)

Frankly to say, EDGE work sucks only when you try to connect your laptop to the Internet.

So, do you need 3G? If you want to watch more YouTube everyday, then go for it. If you dare to bet that Skype will be coming on iPhone, and you can make some free voice call from it…then go for it.

GPS? You say you need GPS? Ok, unless you are easily got lose in a place although you been there lots of time or you always go for interview…then you can get iPhone 3G with GPS.

But think it back? Is it worth to get iPhone 3G just because of the GPS? You better think it twice. Plus do you review how the GPS looks like in iPhone 3G?

How many times in a day or a week do you need GPS? If you are a travel geek, then iPhone 3G sounds good for you.

If you just need it when you are driving and “Hey, you see how cool is my iPhone 3G GPS. It show the way to our lunch place”. Just to show off and this makes you looks like even “sohai”. Travel to your lunch place doesn’t worth you a GPS on hand.

At last came to the real point, why buy iPhone 3G from Maxis?

If you have your company to pay your phone bill every month, then is real worth to get the iPhone 3G from Maxis.

If you are getting iPhone 3G from Maxis with all the penny from your pocket, then you make a real blunder in decision.

Search up the price in Lowyat or second hand iPhone 3G in good condition just like me. One of my friend offers me 1.8K for 2 months old iPhone good condition. Good offer to take, but I don’t need it because iPhone 2G is good enough ;)

I purchased an Apple Iphone 3G (16GB) form your local distributer in Malaysia (Maxis) on the 26th of June 2009 and they launched the new Iphone 3G S on the 15th July 2009 only days after my purchase at a cheeper price. When I purchased my Iphone 3G, I did ask if the new model was going to be launched as it is already out in the US. The reply was no, the earliest they were to be launched in Malaysia was going to be end of 2009 or early 2010. My question is, why is Apple cheating customers’ by not telling them the truth? Is it because they are trying to maximize profit by getting rid of old stock at a higher price? I am sure Apple and Maxis knew of the launch, but Maxis is claiming to have not been informed by Apple, and Apple is cheating customers. Is this an ethical business practice of a reputable organization like Apple? Is this how they treat customers? As a solution I have asked Maxis to replace my Iphone 3G for a 3GS and they have refused. Please come back to me in writing ASAP, as I intend to publicize this issue along with all the other customers in my shoe. Shall also be going to Consumer Rights on this failing a favorable reply from Apple.
