Pao Xiang Bah Kut Teh

  • Heard of Pao Xiang Bah Kut Teh before with special cooking recipe method where the meat was tied with strings? This cooking method claims to reduce the oil inside the meat and so far I know few Bah Kut Teh in Klang adopting this method.

If not mistaken, Pao Xiang Bah Kut Teh main branch location was in Berkeley Garden and I went there once before where the restaurant was fully packed with Klang folks.

I waited for one hour plus and the outcome of the taste wasn’t good as expected, I didn’t even want to blog about it.

Lately Pao Xiang Bah Kut Teh opened a branch in Centro Klang and don’t be surprise to see Bah Kut Teh restaurant inside a shopping mall :D

When I told several friends about Pao Xiang Bah Kut Teh, they just couldn’t believe it having the meal under air conditioning and doubt the taste.

Some wasn’t used to the Bah Kut Teh in bowl and prefer Bah Kut Teh in claypot. Different people has different opinion and I put my respect on every point.

When you look back on history of Bah Kut Teh, it started in bowl and the taste of soup was well preserved compare to claypot.

Why? Because the claypot soup was mixed with mushroom, vegetables and some with Mee Sua ruining the original taste ;)

    Bah Kut Teh Recipe

So how good is the taste of Pao Xiang Bah Kut Teh? First, the meat taste was better than the main branch in Berkeley Garden where I went there for first and last time.

This Bah Kut Teh bowl was the soup wasn’t that hot enough and my guess was the purpose was to prevent the Bah Kut Teh odor spread around the shopping mall.

Overall taste was higher than average based on my opinion on this RM8 per bowl Bah Kut Teh.

The next Bah Kut Teh hunting will be in house stall opposite Pandamaran A school.

My ‘years ago’ memory told me the taste was better than Pao Xiang Bah Kut Teh and they used string-tie cooking method as well ;)

You can try out Ah Her Bah Kut Teh in Pandamaran as well if you pass by in the evening ;)

Just visited Pao Xiang in Klang Centro few days ago. They revised the price to RM8.50 and RM9 per bowl depending on Bah Kut Teh meat you order. Taste quality drop in this branch.
