Milkfish (Chanos Chanos) Recipe
Have you heard of milkfish or Chanos Chanos before? I guess lots of people have tried different cooking recipe for boneless milkfish (grilled or baked you name it) and today I am going to show one of the great dish in Hualien.
Our 3rd day in Hualien starts with blank stomach in the morning after shutdown sleep overnight in Hualien Homestay.
We have no idea what breakfast should we go for and preferably not You Tiao breakfast again

Our driver recommend us to try the milkfish or Chanos Chanos in Hualien town and our blank stomach follow his every word.

Just a matter of fact, there’s been question about the mercury level content in milkfish but that shouldn’t stop us from eating fish for nutrition.
At least I won’t stop eating sushi for the rest of my life

Milkfish Soup Recipe

Woohoo, so this is how the milkfish Chanos Chanos looks like. At first, I was expecting milk based kind of soup

The taste of the soup was just excellent with fresh ginger slice.
The smooth fish meat from Tai Nan (台南) and the sweet sauce (not in the picture) makes the taste even better

According to my friend, this milkfish dish is quite similar to Hong Kong 大眼鸡 (Big Eye Chicken).
Stewed Pork Rice Recipe

Small bowl of stewed pork rice (Lu Rou Fan) but the taste will tempt you to order another bowl.
Stewed pork rice is one of the popular dish in Taiwan and this is the best one I had in my journey.
Four of us spend around 300NTD for the breakfast and got our stamina boosted with high fish protein

If you want to have your milkfish breakfast in the morning, try to wake up earlier because the operation time of this stall starts from 6.30am.
Feel hungry now, I wish to have the milkfish breakfast tomorrow in Malaysia

Too bad. It really looks good.
By the way, I like the new background. Moo…
