The making of Taiwanese Braised Pork Belly stuffed in sliced buns.

The full name of this snack in Chinese was Hu Yao Zhu Gua Bao (虎咬猪刈包) where ‘Hu Yao Zhu’ means ‘Tiger Bites Pig’.

Creative name comes with a meaning and you will know before the meal get started :)

So what is the recipe for the Taiwanese Braised Pork Belly stuffed in sliced buns?

This snack has the mixture ingredients of sweet source (甜酱), peanut (花生), sour vegetable (咸菜), pork meat (猪肉) and coriander (香菜).

No further details on the ingredient composition as my job is to bite on the Taiwanese snack :D

Crouching Tiger Hidden Pig was born in the end. The tiger was bitting the pig with an open mouth in the middle of the snack.

That’s how the name of the ‘Tiger Bites Pig’ came and I really fall in love with this snack after my first bite without procrastination

Imagine the soft and smooth five flower pork  meat (五花肉) mixed with the tasty sour vegetable (咸菜) and peanut fragrance.

Two thumbs up for this famous snack of Yi Lan and without doubt, ‘Tiger Bites Pig’ will be one of my top 20 snack list in Taiwan :)
